Have I lost the plot?

So, I’m about to do something insane. In ten days’ time I will be writing my next thriller LIVE in a bookshop. In just 7 days! That’s 80,000 words, writing from 10-6 every day for a week. Yes, I may have well and truly lost the plot, but this is something I’m desperate to attempt.
I’ve searched far and wide and believe this has never been done before. Is it even possible? I don’t know, but I’m sure as hell going to try. We only get one life, and I want to look back and say I set myself a personal and challenging goal, and I did my best to achieve it.
And the best part? This crazy feat will take place at a fabulous new independent book shop that has just opened in my home town, Guildford. The owners, Hannah and Jack, are hugely passionate about books and know the book trade inside and out, and I’m hoping my challenge will help to support Paper Moon Bookshop. I also hope it will raise awareness for all independent book shops, because shops like Paper Moon are what help communities thrive.
I hope you’ll follow my journey – it will be livestreamed on my YouTube channel (which I’ve set up for this): https://www.youtube.com/@AuthorKathrynCroft so you can see all the highs and lows, and get an insight into what it takes to write a novel, and to attempt something so monumental (and crazy). I might fail, but I’ll give it my best shot.
You can find more information about the event on my landing page (www.kathryncroft.com) and if you’re local to the area, please pop in and check out what an awesome book shop Paper Moon is.
I’ll be posting updates and word counts during the week, and I’ll also be drinking a LOT of caffeine!
Ultimately, I hope this venture inspires people to push themselves to their limits, to ignore that voice that says something is impossible, and to reach for the stars in whatever way possible. Whatever it is, we can do this!

I can see another novel coming from you from the experience of being there. The interruptions you may get and the things you overhear... leading to another mystery. "Paper Moon Mysteries."
